Geely Starray EM-i Super Hybrid Completes London to Brighton EV Rally on Pure Electric Power
- Starray EM-i completed the 55.6-mile EV rally entirely on electric power using just 63% of the battery
- Driven by six-time Guinness World Record EV efficiency holder Kevin Booker, it achieved 20.8 kWh/100 miles in real-world conditions
- Demonstrates the model’s ability to deliver genuine, efficient EV-only driving without relying on its hybrid system
Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, 25 June 2026 The Geely Starray EM-i Super Hybrid has successfully completed the iconic London to Brighton EV rally running exclusively in pure electric mode, showcasing the model’s advanced electrified capability and real-world efficiency.
Covering a total distance of 55.6 miles in 2 hours and 25 minutes, the Starray EM-i completed the route on battery power alone without requiring intervention from its hybrid system. The vehicle delivered an impressive average energy consumption of 20.8 kWh per 100 miles, underlining the efficiency of the Starray EM-i in real-world driving conditions.
Behind the wheel and taking on the historic route which is widely regarded as a benchmark drive for electric vehicles, was Kevin Booker, a six-time Guinness World Record holder for EV efficiency. Kevin started the journey with 90% battery charge and completed the rally with 27% remaining on the battery – whilst the fuel tank started and remained at 44% capacity.
“Completing the London to Brighton run solely on electric power is a fantastic demonstration of what the Starray EM-i Super Hybrid is capable of,” said Kevin Booker. “With outstanding efficiency and strong remaining battery after the journey, it shows how drivers can confidently enjoy EV driving in real-world conditions.”
